DOG LICENSING

Wisconsin State Statute 174.07 requires all dogs over the age of 5 months be licensed.
Village Ordinance 277 requires all dogs over the age of 5 months be licensed.

All residents who have dogs in the Village of Lomira need to have their pets licensed annually. Licenses are valid for the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Licenses must be obtained BEFORE APRIL 1 to avoid a penalty. Owners MUST SHOW PROOF OF VACCINATION AGAINST RABIES from a licensed veterinarian to obtain a dog license. Provide the Clerk with the rabies manufacturer, serial number, date the vaccination was given and the expiration date.
 

              Dog license fees are as follows:
                  Dogs -  spayed/neutered   $10.00 each
                  Dogs -  un-spayed/un-neutered   $15.00 each.
                  Payments/licenses obtained after the due date will be assessed an additional

                  $10.00 late fee per pet.

A portion of the fees collected are submitted to Dodge County and the State of Wisconsin. The Village retains a portion.

All dogs need to have a license. Please pay online, or by cash or check. Make checks payable to the Village of Lomira. Please separate this payment from your tax payment. Failure to have your dog properly licensed may result in a citation by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, per pet, per occurrence.

You have options to obtain the pet license!

• Email

  • Email Clerk@villageoflomira.gov with the proper rabies vaccination documentation (take a pic or scan of the veterinarian’s document) and provide the owner contact information

  • Pay the appropriate fee online at www.villageoflomira.gov/pay

  • The Clerk’s office will mail the license to you once the documentation and fee have been processed

• At the Clerk’s Office

  • Stop by during regular business hours M-F 8a-4p with the proper rabies vaccination documentation

  • Pay the appropriate fee with cash, check, debit, or credit

  • The license will be available to you immediately

• Dropbox at the Municipal Building or Mail

  • Place the proper rabies vaccination documentation, owner contact information, and fee in the outside dropbox at the municipal building or mail it to Village of Lomira at 425 Water Street, Lomira

  • The license will be mailed to you once documents and fee have been processed.
