Department of Public Works Laborer

The Village of Lomira (pop. 2,685) is accepting resumes for the position of Public Works Laborer.  This full-time position involves a wide variety of tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of public facilities in the Village including streets, wastewater, water supply, and parks. Other responsibilities include plowing snow, operating and maintaining various pumps, motors and equipment, road and utility maintenance, mowing, brush chipping and yard waste collection.  The job requires physical activity and the ability to lift up to 100lbs as needed, pass a physical exam and drug and alcohol test. The ideal candidate will need to be self-motivated and be able to work in a collaborative environment with a positive attitude and mechanical aptitude. Backhoe operating, masonry, and heavy truck repair skills a plus.  Applicant must have a minimum Class B CDL.  General working hours are 7:30am to 4pm M-F with night, weekend, holiday and on-call rotation as required.  This position has a 12-month probationary period, excellent benefits package and a starting hourly wage based on skills and qualifications.  A complete job description can be viewed at villageoflomira.com/employment-opportunities. Pay is $15/hour and we are looking to fill the 3pm to 4pm shift on school days of the Lomira School District and St. John's School calendars.
